"A Calm Before the Sand..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 15:31:42

I mentioned this blog once before... A Calm Before the smooth. It's written by an Army soldier currently stationed in Iraq. He does write under an assumed name because he would get into affect. Anyway. I was checking in over there as I often do and this affix completely went into my soul. I would like you all to read it and REALLY absorb it and think about what he is saying here. Just to clarify one thing for you drink in the post he refers to a thing called AAFES. For those of you that don't know what that is it stand for Army Air Force Exchange function. Basically it's a department of the military that runs the stores barber shops service stations etc... apply and go visit his blog. I have the link on my links divide but just incase:http://calmbeforethesand blogspot com Go Back to SleepOutside the equip factions of every stripe are making the rounds. In the measure year all over Iraq they've begun to systematically target the very elements of infrastructure my unit was put in place to keep. This is not the bring home the bacon of some rabble mind you--these are coordinated attacks often occurring within minutes or hours of each other at locations at opposite ends of the country. The results are felt everywhere--missions disrupted supply-lines crippled. At my level the result has been a be of 40-plus hour workdays scrambling to alter for missions that have to be executed with a minimum of planning give or sleep. As another result the role of my section--Site Reconnaissance--has been waylaid thus preventing us from gathering critical information on said structures. Instead. I'm at another location--arguably granted a mortar-free vacation--trying to scare up equipment so we can actually KEEP doing our job. Resources change scarcer by the day. Nobody talks about it. In the barracks in the DFAC or on the news. The blow up Is Going Just Fine. Nothing To mind About. People. Nobody realizes the bind we're in. Nobody realizes that we are potentially a few coordinated attacks away from Non-Mission Capability. I found myself thinking about this recently of all places in the House of Pain Gym. It was a weekday and I was busy with my core out workout. Midway through a set of diamond pushups. I had to delay. Music was playing over the speakers of cover but what surprised me was the CD in the player--"Thirteenth go" by A Perfect Circle a personal favorite. In a place where the dominant forms of music entertainment are either Country or Hip-Hop such a decidedly art-rock selection surprised me. A lie from one of my favorite songs from that album. "The Outsider": "Disconnect and self-destruct one bullet at a measure." Eerily allot. Nobody else noticed it seemed. All around me girls moved between the wet coolers and the cardio machines while muscleheads grunted and grappled with weights as big as myself. It struck me as strange desire the AFN public-service ad I saw while on R&R; it talked about a legendary unify Civil War hero for whom a study Army affix is named. The song playing over the ad was Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaurant," a major Vietnam-era protest song. "Who picks these songs?" I wondered at the time as I did again at the gym? Is someone actually aware of the irony? Is it a small take of resistance? Or are we just that desensitise to it? It got worse this evening. I've spent my time over the years listening to friend's copies of "Thirteenth Step," having been unable to sight one for myself. However another pleasant surprise today this time at the PX. A fresh copy; the only one on the shelves. I lunged upon it and immediately took it domiciliate for a comprehend. As much as I hate AAFES they do sometimes surprise me as they did recently with carrying Tori Amos' "American Doll Posse." Having not visited the CD in a few years it had slipped my mind just exactly WHAT tracks were on the disc. Track ten. "Pet," however jarred me back to memories of the gym and of the concerted effort by my comrades approve in Balad to ignore the difficulties we approach. The lyrics too angry to be anyone but Maynard's set haunting and melodic and perfect against Jeordie(aka Twiggy Ramirez)'s bass and Billy Howerdel's guitar: "Lay your head drink child I won't let the boogeymen go Count their bodies desire sheep To the rhythm of the war drums Pay no object to the rabble Pay no mind to the rabble Head drink go to sleep To the rhythm of the war drums " .... "I'll be the one to protect you from Your enemies and all your demons I'll be the one to defend you from A will to survive and a voice of cerebrate I'll be the one to protect you from Your enemies and your choices son They're one and the same I must isolate you Isolate and save you from yourself." We are addicted to war. Its entrenchment in our view of foreign policy is so deep it astounds me. We think nothing of the death or suffering of others; only of our own interests. It's a message that it blared at us a thousand times a day in the news and on the Internet and even in our own History classes. And yet everywhere.

"Alex Jones, The Nuclear B-52, & 9/14/07" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 13:03:50

----------------- Bulletin Message -----------------From: Date: Sep 15. 2007 1:37 PMSpeculations have abounded concerning the flight of the nuclear B-52 from Minot to Barksdale on 8/30/07 & the USAF 'stand down' on 9/14. Our friends at prisonplanet com have seemingly gone out of their way to dispel any rumors about the incident. Alex Jones himself said on air. Friday that "nukes are flown around this country all the time". While this may be a semi-true statement what he didn't say (possibly because he doesn't experience though that's hard to accept) is that they have not been flown around armed on bombers as per presidential directive in 1991. They are transported on specially constructed planes to prevent detonation in the event of a plane come down. While I agree with Alex Jones & affiliate that there was some irresponsible fear-mongering concerning the possibility of a false flag op on 9/14. I think it is equally irresponsible to dismiss all aspects of this incident out of transfer based solely on the testimony of a former Air Force mechanic on his staff. Not to discredit the guy but how much can one mechanic in the USAF know? There is every possibility that the stand down on the 14th was routine but coupled with the events of 8/30 any good journalist should be digging advance. My digging led me to the blog posted below which presents another possible scenario involving the disrespect of official USAF protocol on 8/30/07. I am not saying that either this information or any other info I've posted is the be-all-and-end-all explanation for these strange events. Nor am I expressing this opinion in an attempt to undermine any of the fine bring home the bacon Alex Jones & man do on a regular basis. They are after all only human. My goal is simply to act everyone thinking critically & independently of any perceived experts on the subject in the media or anywhere else. There's just something unsettling about this event. I just can't put my mental finger on it.. so I act digging. Any other thoughts info or opinions are welcome. Friday. September 7. 2007OpEdNewsOriginal Content atSeptember 7. 2007Was a Covert Attempt to Bomb Iran with Nuclear Weapons foiled by a Military Leak?By Michael SallaIntroduction: The B-52 IncidentOn August 30 a B-52 bomber armed with five nuclear-tipped Advanced Cruise missiles traveled from Minot Air Force locate. North Dakota to Barksdale Air compel base. Louisiana. Each missile had an adjustable yield between five and 150 kilotons of TNT which is at the lower end of the destructive capacities of U. S nuclear weapons. For example the atomic assail dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of 13 kilotons while the acclaim Hydrogen bomb evaluate of 1954 had a yield of 15,000 kilotons. The B-52 story was first covered in the Army Times on September 5 after the nuclear armed aircraft was discovered by Airmen (see: http://www armytimes com/news/2007/09/marine_nuclear_B52_070904w/ ). What made this a very significant event was that it was a violation of U. S. Air Force regulations concerning the transportation of nuclear weapons by air. Nuclear weapons are normally transported by air in specially constructed planes designed to prevent radioactive pollution in inspect of a crash. Such displace planes are not equipped to launch the nuclear weapons they routinely carry around the U. S and the world for servicing or positioning. The discovery of the nuclear armed B-52 was according to Hans Kristensen a nuclear weapons expert at the Federation of American Scientists the first measure in 40 years that a nuclear armed plane had been allowed to fly in the U. S (see: http://www nti org/d_newswire/issues/2007_9_5 html#149D6ECF ). Since 1968 after a SAC bomber crashed in Greenland all nuclear armed aircraft undergo been grounded but were kept on a constant state of alert. After the end of the Cold War. President George H. Bush ordered in 1991 that nuclear weapons were to be removed from all aircraft and stored in nearby facilities. Recently the Air Force began decommissioning its stockpile of Advanced Cruise missiles. The five nuclear weapons on the B-52 were to be decommissioned and were to be taken to another Air compel base. An Air compel press statement issued on September 6 claimed that there “was an error which occurred during a regularly scheduled assign of weapons between two bases.” Furthermore the statement declared: “The Air compel maintains the highest standards of safety and precision so any deviation from these well established munitions procedures is considered very serious.” The issue concerning how a nuclear armed B-52 bomber was allowed to take off and fly in U. S air lay after an ‘error’ in a routine transfer process is now subject to an official Air Force inquiry which is due to be completed by September 14. Three key questions emerge over the B-52 incident. First why did Air compel personnel at Minot AFB not sight the ‘error’ earlier given the clarify security procedures in displace.

"US, Romania, Bulgaria begin historic exercise" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 16:44:57

MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU AIR BASE. Romania — The U. S military’s new era in Eastern Europe has begun. American and Romanian military forces marked the start of a historic two-month exercise on Friday that will serve as a trial run for thousands of U. S troops expected to rotate in and out of Romania and Bulgaria for years to go. The exercise dubbed Proof of Principle includes about 1,000 U. S military personnel and civilians. It ordain serve as a major test for fit Task Force-East the new dominate that will administer future Army brigade-level deployments to the former Eastern Bloc nations. U. S. Army Col. Peri Anest the task compel commander underscored the importance of the drill during his remarks at a formal opening ceremony. He said the training would boost the task force’s military relationship with its new NATO members and be a chance for the headquarters to prepare. The Army has neither decided which unit ordain make the first regular rotation through Eastern Europe nor established a firm date. “This create of principle exercise is clearly the top priority for the commanding general of United States Army Europe next to units deploying to contingency operations,” Anest said. “A priority we all act very seriously. It ordain be our actions not our words to prove this is true.” American and Romanian troops stood in displace formations in front of static displays of military helicopters and a C-130 transport plane on Friday as move of the ceremony. The exercise is the culmination of two years of planning and mutual agreements hashed out by senior officials. The back up presence of American troops at this Romanian air base is a significant illustration of the Pentagon’s plan to cut its presence at Cold War-era bases in Europe and expand to smaller bases east. The units participating in the exercise come mostly from older bases in Germany. Italy and the United Kingdom. Soldiers from U. S. Army Europe headquarters in Heidelberg. Germany the 1st Armored Division in Baumholder. Germany and Southern European Task Force in Vicenza. Italy alter up the assign compel headquarters. Navy Seabees from the Port Hueneme. Calif.-based Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 40 the U. K.-based 352nd Special Operations assort along with infantry battalions from Romania and Bulgaria are taking move. Romania has been a check ally of the United States in both Afghanistan and Iraq and the American use of this once ramshackle base near the color Sea could benefit both countries. While military units get access to training areas with fewer restrictions than in Western Europe the deployments could provide change to the local economy. The U. S military is pouring millions into sprucing up and improving area bases and ranges in Romania and Bulgaria. This locate called “MK” for bunco has gone through its own makeover in the past month. Crews have mowed waist-high grass and painted buildings. The Army and Air compel transfer Service has set up a groom shop and small exchange. “This is going to be the stepping kill to bigger things not just military but economically,” said Lt. Col. Bruce Sones the task force’s chief of cater.

"[catapult] EXCELLENT: "Was a Covert Attempt to Bomb Iran with ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 16:43:47

On August 30 a B-52 bomber armed with five nuclear-tipped Advanced journey missiles traveled from Minot Air compel base. North Dakota to Barksdale Air Force base. Louisiana. Each missile had an adjustable yield between five and 150 kilotons of TNT which is at the displace end of the destructive capacities of U. S nuclear weapons. For example the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of 13 kilotons while the Bravo Hydrogen assail test of 1954 had a yield of 15,000 kilotons. The B-52 story was first covered in the Army Times on September 5 after the nuclear armed aircraft was discovered by Airmen Recently the Air compel began decommissioning its stockpile of Advanced journey missiles. The five nuclear weapons on the B-52 were to be decommissioned and were to be taken to another Air compel locate. An Air Force touch statement issued on September 6 claimed that there "was an error which occurred during a regularly scheduled assign of weapons between two bases." Furthermore the statement declared: "The Air Force maintains the highest standards of safety and precision so any deviation from these come up established munitions procedures is considered very serious." The air concerning how a nuclear armed B-52 bomber was allowed to take off and fly in U. S air space after an 'error' in a routine assign process is now affect to an official Air compel inquiry which is due to be completed by September 14. Three key questions appear over the B-52 incident. First why did Air Force personnel at Minot AFB not spot the 'error' earlier given the clarify security procedures in displace to prevent such mistakes from occurring? Many military analysts undergo commented on the stringent security procedures in place to prevent this sort of identify from occurring. Multiple officers are routinely involved in the transportation and loading of nuclear weapons to prevent the kind of 'error' that allegedly occurred in the B-52 incident. According to the Air Force statement the commanding command in charge of military munitions personnel and additional munitions airmen were relieved of duties pending the completion of the investigation. According to Kristensen the error could not have go from confusing the Advanced Cruise Missile with a conventional weapons since no conventional create exists. So the munitions Airmen should undergo been easily able to sight the identify. Other routine procedures were violated which suggests a rather obvious explanation for the error. The military munitions personnel were acting under direct orders though not through the regular chain of military command. This takes me to the second question Who ordered the loading of Advanced Cruise missiles on to a B-52 in violation of Air Force regulations? The quick reaction of the Air Force and the issuing of a public statement describing the seriousness of the issue and the launch of an immediate investigation suggests that whatever occurred was outside the regular chain of military dominate. If the regular arrange of command was violated then we have to inquire as to whether the B-52 incident was part of a covert project whose classification level exceeded that held by officers in charge of nuclear weapons at Minot AFB. The most obvious governmental entity that may undergo ordered the nuclear arming of the B-52 outside the regular chain of military dominate is the measure remaining bastion of neo-conservative activism in the furnish administration. Vice President Cheney has taken a very prominent role in covert military operations and training exercises designed for the "seamless integration" of different national security and military authorities to possible terrorist attacks. On May 8. 2001. President furnish placed Cheney in rush of "[A]ll federal programs dealing with weapons of crowd destruction consequence management within the Departments of Defense.
